Thyme is a very powerful and effective disinfectant and can be used in both externally (as a wash) and internally to help fight the infections we have. One of the best herbal cold remedies, it is most of the time used to help ward off colds and as a rinse to treat a sore throat and oral infections.
Even the big mouthwash label, Listerine has made a release of a “natural” counterpart that is made of thyme oil and less alcohol too. The big conventional manufacturers couldn’t ignore the effectiveness of natural plant compounds forever right? Plus they want people like you to continue to buy their stuff and more people are waking up to natural, non-toxic alternatives every day!
Thyme also can be great as a fine tea that can treat coughs and chest complaints and is used in many anti-fungal remedies. Like many herbs, it is also rich in antioxidants. Learn to make a powerfully effective cough syrup below.
