While we don’t consider pneumonia to be that much of a big deal in the United States, over a half-million people are admitted to the hospital with pneumonia each year, of which roughly 5% will die.
This natural remedy can help with the prevention of the respiratory infections from getting bad enough to require hospitalization – read on for more!
While there are some potential causes of pneumonia, the most common is a bacterial pneumonia related to strep – a form that can result in as high a fatality rate as 20-30%, as well as other complications such as sepsis.
Most often, these types of pneumonia can be treated with antibiotics, such as amoxicillin or penicillin. What if respiratory infections such as pneumonia could be more effectively combated without such drugs, and before they got so bad, though?
Oregano oil is one such potential solution. Long used in Eastern medicine, oregano oil can be effective against chronic inflammation, dysentery, jaundice, respiratory infections, and urinary tract infections, especially as lab work has shown that oregano oil – especially medicinal grade oil – has strong antibacterial properties (Dadalioglu I et al, 2004) and can work with antibiotics to fight bacterial infections (Press HG et al, 2005).
We recommend the following dosage: Take three drops of oregano oil once daily (we prefer it mixed into another beverage) for up to five days.
As always, please note that we are not doctors, and if your symptoms persist, you should seek medical attention, but we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how well oregano oil can aid in fighting bacterial infections.
